Big Cottonwood Canyon

Big Cottonwood Canyon is located in the Wasatch Mountain southeast of Salt Lake City. The mouth is located at about 7200 South and 3700 East. The best way to get there is to take the 6200 South exit on I-215, head east and follow the signs to the Canyon. Big Cottonwood is home to 2 ski Resorts, Brighton and Solitude. Solitude has a nordic center for. The north side of the canyon is the Mt. Olympus wilderness area. And on the south side is the Twin Peaks Wilderness. During the summer the dirt road over Gaurdsman pass is open to drive to Park City and Heber City.
