Cecret Lake, sometimes called Secret Lake in Alta Utah, is a beautiful litle lake nestled under gorgeous mountains. The trail is very family friendly and is a good hike for those with litle legs.

To get to the trailhead, head east up Little Cottonwood Canyon (9400 South in Sandy Utah). You'll pass the Snowbird Ski resort and drive through Alta Ski Resort. Stay on the main road, and as you enter upper parking lots for Alta, you'll see a small information booth before the road becomes dirt. On weekends you can park near the information booth and catch a free shuttle up the dirt road to the trailhead. Or you can drive up the well maintained dirt road yourself. Parking is limited and fills up fast on the weekends, so the shuttle is the recommended way to get there.

The Trail starts right next to the Albion Basin Campground Entrance and skirts to the west of the campground. You'll pass under 2 ski lifts and see some spectacular views of Albion basin through the clearings. Once you are past the campground the trail merges with a service road for .2 miles before it splits to the left. Keep following the trail through a meadow and up a couple of switchbacks to get to the lake.

There is a trail all the way around the lake, and a few side trails going to different parts of the surrounding mountains. Some of the trails lead to some good cliffs to climb. On a busy Weekend, you'll regularly see a number of climbers on the cliffs below and around the lake.
