Snowbird's Observation deck offers great views of Little Cottonwood and the southern Salt Lake Valley.
The hike to get there is an easy hike along a paved trail. It is great for families with small children. Stollers and wheelchairs can easily get to the overlook.
The Trailhead is just accross Little Cottonwood creek from the Snowbird Center (The base of the Tram.) by the base of the Peruvian Express lift. To get there head to the upper level of the Snowbird Center and follow the signs to the ski lifts. Walk towards the Peruvian lift and look for a paved path heading to the right.
The trail gently climbs through several stands of forest interrupted by ski runs that offer views of the mountains and the canyon. In early summer there is often snow along parts of the trail. (Snowbird is often open for skiing through Mermorial day). Along the way there are a number of interpretavie signs. The signs talk about every thing from the geology and wildlife to the history of the area.
